Redwood City Señors Softball Club

Minutes for January 7, 2016 Board of Directors Meeting

The January 2016 meeting was called to order at 8:30 by Dennis Logie, President at the conclusion of the Annual Membership Meeting. Other Board members present: Steve Bowerman, Pete Lewis, Pat Michael, Bill Picht, Dave Reck, Angelo Rizzato, Hiro Tarumi, and Rob Weiss.

AGENDA ITEMS COVERED:

1. The 1st order of business was to establish the Club Officers for 2016. All current officers have decided to stay.

2. December 2015 Board Meeting Minutes were reviewed and approved as written. Minutes are sent to all Directors, posted to the official Club website, and sent to Donna O’Farrell for historical recording.

3. The December 2015 Treasurer’s Report was approved as submitted by Treasurer, Angelo Rizzato.

4. Night and Saturday Leagues – The Leagues are being limited in games due to the weather. It might be a short season.

5. Holiday Party Report – Pat handed out an Expense Report that showed the revenue and expenses from this year’s Holiday party. He was happy to report that the Club subsidy was only $244 this year as compared to $1109 last year.

6. Holiday Party Commissioner - A search is still ongoing to find a Holiday Party Coordinator for the 2016 party. Pat has asked several people but so far, no joy.

7. Parking lot car damage and protocol – Postponed

8. Potential Cost Savings measures – Bill reviewed his cost savings ideas, i.e. limit free 1 pitch tournament attendance, raise the San Jose Giants outing ticket price, raise the June tournament entrance fee, and reduce the cost of the Holiday party.

9. Decision on Hit for Distance at one-pitch – postponed.

10. Round Table – Pete suggested the Club do something for San Carlos in recognition of their generousity allowing us the use of Highlands Park for Day Play. Dennis will talk to Gordon Bell for ideas. The issue regarding where a Day Play rover can play was discussed and it was decided that each team can place no more than one rover on the infield or brown area of the infield. Day Play rules will be revised to reflect this change. Red Morton resurfacing is progressing with the completion date now at the end of March 2016. The City has told us that Griffin and Bechet Fields will be the first available fields.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:20 PM.

Next Board meeting will be Thursday, February 4, 2016.

Respectfully submitted by Pat Michael, Club Secretary
